Vallery Hyduk - Vice President & Head of Development


At 16 years old, Vallery ranked second in Canada and 16th in world of competitive swimming and narrowly missed making the 1988 Olympic team. Having achieved such elite status at a young age taught her exactly what it takes to reach the top: talent, time and tenacity. In 2002, Vallery brought her winning attitude to Peace Point Entertainment Group by becoming partner and Vice President of the company.

As VP and Head of Development, Vallery has helped grow the company to its current stature. Vallery has developed and supervised the production all of Peace Point’s award winning series and documentaries.

Highlights include: a series of 24 CGI shorts entitled Super Bodies for CTV's 2010 Winter Olympics, 40 episodes of the award-winning series Food Jammers, 65 episodes of Fresh with Anna Olson (both for Food Network Canada), 39 episodes of Ed’s Up! with star Ed Robertson from the Barenaked Ladies (for OLN) and 26 episodes of Fanatical (for CanWest Global). Additionally she produced and directed the award winning documentary for Global TV: DecAids, a 60 minute program reviewing the 20 years of Aids and Aids fundraisers and she developed and supervised; Real Fight Club, a 60 minute doc delving into the world of Mixed Martial Arts.

Prior to becoming a partner at Peace Point, Vallery worked on such productions as Taste of Life, Fashion Television, and Design for Living. Cumulatively, she has produced over 200 episodes of television programming seen across Canada and some 120 countries around the world. Additionally, Vallery has written for television, radio and publication - she authored three editions of the famous Zagat Survey restaurant guide and wrote a fictional novel based on her experience as a world class competitive swimmer. Vallery was a scholarship athlete and Big Ten Champion swimmer at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she earned a double major –a BA in Political Science and French. In swimming, Vallery was a top ranked competitor for Canada and competed at the national level for a decade. Vallery also earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto and is an active member of the Ontario College of Teachers. She is a member of the Canadian Women in Communications and CFTPA. Vallery is proudest of being the mother of two wonderful daughters.
