...Invade America On The Cooking Channel
TORONTO, (Canada) May 6, 2010 -- Peace Point Entertainment Group has had an exciting spring so far including winning several awards and selling its popular and award winning Food Jammers series to the new Cooking Channel in the U.S.
“For the fifth year in a row Food Jammers, commissioned by Food Network Canada has been honored at Worldfest winning a Platinum Remi Award for Lifestyle Programming Series, making it our most awarded series ever,” says Executive Producer and Peace Point President Les Tomlin. Food Jammer’s first season of 13 X 30 minutes has just been acquired by the new Cooking Channel in the U.S. who also have options for season’s two and three. Food Jammers currently airs in Italy (RAI), Canada (Food), Brazil (Globosat), Australia (XYZ) and Thailand (UBC).
Fresh with Anna Olson won a Gold Remi Award at Houston's 43rd Annual WorldFest for Lifestyle Programming Series and series host and Barenaked Ladies front man Ed Robertson of Ed’s Up! won a Gold Remi Award for Individual On Camera Talent.
At Chicago's 46th annual Hugo Television Awards, the world’s most watched gay travel series Bump! won Certificate of Merit in the Travel Series category. The series just launched the worlds first gay travel app on iTunes and Blackberry. Bump! is produced by Bumper 2 Bumper Media, a joint venture of Peace Point Entertainment Group and Pink Triangle Press.
Fresh with Anna Olson, another Food Network (Canada) commission recently launched a series cookbook released by Whitecap Books. The series was recently picked up by Finland’s Nelonen and Romania’s Antena 4 in addition to the dozens of networks worldwide that currently airs the series. A new third season of the series will debut this fall on Food Network (Canada) and internationally.
Peace Point has now won a total of 19 awards over the past six years including 2 Platinum, 8 Gold, 2 Silver, and 5 Bronze awards won at Worldfest alone.
